This textured hat features a fitted ribbed edge and textured double moss stitch design at the crown which puffs out slightly like a muffin top.

This is not a super slouchy hat however. It’s like a beanie with more room at the crown. The ribbed edge is also quite stretchy. If you would like the brim to have a slightly tighter fit I suggest knitting it with a pair of size 6 needles and then the rest of the hat with a size 8. The hat is knit flat and then sewn up in the final step.

You will need about 120 to 150 yards of Worsted weight yarn for this hat. I used a combination of Cascade 220 in Charcoal Gray for the ribbed edge and Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted in Victorian Pink for the crown. It can of course be made in one solid color or from a variegated yarn for an interesting effect.

The light blue hat in the other photos was made from Lion Brand Cotton Ease yarn in the color Lake.

This super cute hat has a very comfortable and flattering fit. You’ll never want to take it off!
