This worldly sweater features the four human races. Each person is the same size, and has their heart in the same place because everyone is the same inside. When we join hands and work together, we unite in love.

The construction of the sweater is quite unique. Two long panels are crocheted first, then each is folded in half to create the front and back. After sewing the side seams, the sleeves are crocheted onto the armhole in rounds. After the sleeves have been finished, a panel is crocheted to connect the back, then a border is crocheted around the edge. Three yarns are worked at the same time to create the people motif; two yarns are carried while another is crocheted. Instructions are included for increasing or decreasing the size of the sweater. The first version of this pattern was published as The Whole World Coat in Winter 2005 Crochet Fantasy.

Instructions and graphs are included for right-handed and left-handed crocheters. For more about the sweater, please look at my blog.
