Monsters, Mittens & Hats… Oh my!
I created this hat/scarf/mittens combo in an effort to give my kids a piece of knitwear that rivals a swiss army knife in number of uses. I wanted them to have mittens that wouldn’t get left on the playground, a hat that they wanted to wear, and a scarf that would keep their little necks warm. oculiTres (three eyes) smashes all those requirements. The “mittens” on this pattern are more like scarf pockets. There is no thumb hole which makes it easier for my younger children to put on & take off.

oculiTres is worked using several unusual techniques, including: picot cast on, bobbles, i-cords, & magic loop cast on.
