Old Salt is a quick unisex hat, worked in the round from the bottom-up.
The broken rib pattern, combined with increases and decreases, creates an interesting asymmetrical shaping, easy but never boring to knit!


Sizes: Child (Adult: S, M, L)
Finished measurements
Hat circumference at brim: 15 (17¼, 19½, 21) inches/38 (43.5, 49.5, 55) cm.
Height: 7 (8, 9, 10) inches/ 18 (20, 23, 25) cm.

Gold and ecru samples shown in size S, worn on a 22 inch/55 cm head; purple sample shown in size M worn on a 21 inch/53 cm head.
For a snug fit please choose a size with approx. 2-4 inches/5-10 cm of negative ease.

Larger or smaller sizes can be achieved using different gauge or by adding/subtracting a multiple of 12 sts at the cast on.

♡ Approx. 120 (140, 180, 210) yards/110 (130, 170, 200) meters of Sport or DK weight yarn.

Gold sample shown in Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% Merino, 30% Silk; 150 yds/138m per 50 grams, Bering);
Ecru sample shown in Ice Yarns Master Alpaca (50% Acrylic, 25% Alpaca, 25% Merino; 191 yds/175 m per 50 gr, Beige); Purple sample shown in Handspun blend yarn (2 ply, 14 wpi, 160 yds/146 m per 60 gr).
