I began designing this beret for my boyfriend’s trendy, Australian sister. When knitting for someone in the land down under, pieces that hold their own in the heat are a must! This design uses fingering weight yarn and size 5 needles, creating a thin, lightweight fabric- perfect for warm weather.
I adore swirls, and this design uses a twist stitch popular in Aran sweaters. By shifting the twist one stitch to the right each round, a glorious swirl design is created.
This beret is not only a great one-skein project, but is the perfect accessory to any warm-weather outfit.
