Pipevine Shawlette by N/A

Pipevine Shawlette

by N/A

The Pipevine Shawlette was inspired by the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly. Pipevine Swallowtail butterflies have multiple color variegations within their wings. The shape of the shawlette is an elongated triangle, reminiscent of the butterfly’s wings.

This shawlette was designed to highlight the beauty in variegated or hand painted yarns.

This shawlette is knit from the top down, starting at the center. The design utilizes a lace-like stitch in between stockinette stitches to get the maximum yardage or meterage of your yarn. This combination of stitches helps to make a large shawlette with one skein of 100 grams of fingering weight yarn. Handspun yarn would also be a beautiful pairing with this pattern.

The shawl pin pictured is the Twig Lace Pin from Jul_Designs.
