This sweater is a classic cardigan with interesting lines at the shoulder and a beautifully delicate cable pattern on the body.

It’s accented by bolder slipped stitches along the fronts, and the patterned body of the sweater is set off by simple stockinette sleeves and shoulders. These distinct, tailored shoulders show up beautifully in the heathered yarn, and the switch to stockinette makes knitting the shaping portion nice and easy!

Sweater is knit from the bottom up and separated at underarms. You seam the shoulders together, and sleeves are picked up and worked down from underarm, with short row cap shaping. The buttton band is knit last. Cables are both written and charted.

This is a versatile layering piece that can be worn year round, due to the classic silhouette and the light weight and feel of this gorgeous 100% organic Thirteen Mile wool from Montana. The subtle shades in the natural and the plant-dyed colors of the yarn are stunning and the simple elements of this cardigan allow the fiber to really stand out.

Instructions for making a short or long version are included in the pattern, and as always, notes for modifications are in there as well!

One small errata: on Back Transition to Stockinette, it says “Sizes 31.5 and 34.5 Only”. It should say “32 and 35.5 Only”. Sorry!
