The Ridged Cable Banded hat is exactly the same as the Cable Banded Hat. I have included the Ridged Design into the other one. along with the Wrist Warmers. So go to the other one when you order. Have to figure out how to deactivate this one but keep in my que incase there is another revision.
This pattern was accidental. I showed a view of it
with the Cable Banded Hat as an option on YouTube. However, recently there have been a few inquires about the pattern to make it. So here it is. The pattern that is for this pattern is the same pattern for the “Cable Banded Hat Pattern” so if you buy this one, don’t purchase the other one. They are all the same.
The basic hat is the Cable Banded Hat with an easy construction feature. It has a series of 3 ridges up the crown. The way the decrease is done on the crown causes a pointed (Star) design at the top.
I use Plymouth Encore yarn to make the hat. Its warm and easy to care for with Machine wash and dry. Ideal for individual who do not like to hand wash and lay flat to dry. It is set up as an adult size, but can easily be converted to a smaller size. Making the band shorter and not as wide with less stitches for the crown. You can make it for a toddler, kids or for a large headed man like my dad.
The gauge does not have to be exact. Hats are stretchy and fit a variety of head sizes, as long as it is the same age group. All that is needed is 1 pair circular needles and double pointed needles size 9, a cable stitch holder and a tapestry needle.
You can use all the same color yarn or one color for the band and one color for the crown. It can also be made with the Horseshoe Cable, Silver Dollar Cable or any other design to add interest. Be creative and enjoy.
The design is also on by website www.stitchniche.com with a choice of yarns. Plus there is a youtube how to video to show how its knitted. The video is a reference guide and the stitch count may not be the same as the pattern.
