This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download

This pattern comes in three sizes but is flexible fit wise due to the negative ease built into the pattern. The stitch pattern that forms the body of the beanie is very stretchy and forgiving, as well as providing subtle detail to the hat.

The size range will allow a hat to be knit to fit anyone with a head circumference of 50cm-61cm.

Any 8 ply yarn will work for this project as long as you can achieve the gauge. 4 mm needles are used for the brim and then a change to 5mm to knit the body of the hat.

This pattern will suit any beginner that has the knowledge to knit in the round, knit small circumferences, knit two stitches together and how to knit or purl as these two stitches are what form the crosshatch pattern.

The pattern for the body of the hat is provided in both chart and written form.
