This is the perfect project to learn many new stitches and techniques. You can also use up your worsted weight scrap yarn and make each block unit a different color, change colors as you run out of yarn, alternate 2 colors or make the scarf all one color. The possibilities are endless. Directions are given for each block a different color.
The scarf is knitted as one piece (not separate pieces knitted and then sewn together) with the pockets sewn on. To make a nice chained edge, the first stitch of every row is slipped purlwise (SL1p) and the last stitch is knitted.
