Based on a scallop shell I found in Florida years ago. Chevron rays in stockinette st, separated by rays in purl st and eyelets. Shawl grows and increases in size as a seashell would, growth is marked by repeating garter row ridges along the length of each chevron ray. Garter stitch and lace edging.

Pattern includes row by row knitting instructions. (no charts)

Finished measurement of shawl (after blocking): 182.9 cm X 91.5 cm or 72” X 36”.
