Easy to wear long asymmetric triangle shawl… one of my favorite shapes!! It wraps twice around your neck, easily, with long drapey tails. It is large without being overly bulky.

I really love using textured stitches to show off variegated hand dyed yarns. They really make the colors in the yarn pop! This design uses alternating segments of seed stitch and stockinette, and then the interesting, but easy, crossed extended stitches. The contrasting striped sections are created using these elongated stitches which look like embroidery and give the shawl an extra dimension.

What you will need:

• Yarn – Main color: 510yds/466m DK weight yarn and
Contrasting color: 125yds/114m Dk weight.

• Needles – US 6 (4 mm) long circular needle to accommodate a large number of stitches, (piece is worked flat), or needle size to obtain gauge.

• Gauge – Approx 18 sts/ 4 inches in stockinette after blocking. But I would suggest doing a small Seed Stitch swatch and to see if you like the fabric in this stitch pattern.

• Finished Size of Shawl – 82 inches (205 cm) on the longest edge & 18 inches (45 cm) at the deepest point.
