Serendipity, a vintage style bonnet for the modern child. The perfect heirloom bonnet to pass down the generations.

Designed in Australia by Mel Harrison.

Instructions for 5 sizes.

Sizes:
Size is determined by your hook size please refer to gauge swatch information.
Head circumference up to 37cm
Finished bonnet is approximately 14cm high measured at the centre.14cm wide across the middle.
Newborn 13.5 x 14cm to fit up to 35cm head circumference
Up to 3m: 14 x 15cm to fit up to 38cm head circumference
Up to 6m: 15 x 16cm to fit up to 40cm head circumference
Up to 12m: 16 x 17cm to fit up to 44cm head circumference
Up to 2yrs 17 x 18cm to fit up to 48cm head circumference

Fit: : Serendipty Bonnets are made to be a fitted style. The ages and head sizes given are an indication only, if your child is smaller or larger than the average child in their age range please make the next size up or down. Crochet by nature creates an ‘elastic’ garment so you may find your Bonnet fits for longer than the age ranges/head sizes given.

Yarn: 8ply/DK weight yarn of cotton, merino or a soft blend.
Approx. 80-105m
Suggested brands: Drops extra fine merino, Hobbii XL baby merino, Mahogany Turtle 8ply Merino.
Hook: Hook size will be determined by your gauge test swatch. Size up or down to achieve the correct gauge for your yarn and chosen size.
Supplies: yarn needle, button 15-18mm, stitch markers and a darning needle.

American terminology. You will need knowledge of basic crochet stitches:
Ch: chain
Sc: Single crochet
Hdc: Half double crochet
Dc: Double crochet
Dc2tog: Double crochet two stitches together.
Sl st: Slip stitch
Skp: Skip
Ch1-sp: Chain 1 space
Ws: Wrong side
Rs: Right side
CL3dc: Cluster of 3 double crochet stitches.
Pm: Place marker
Rm: Remove maker
