This fingerless mitt has the advantage of the addition of a thumb. For those who have arthritis of the thumb, this is a wonderful addition. Sized for an adult woman or man It can be knit in garter stitch (knit every row) or you may add a pattern of your choice for the body of the mitt. The mitt is finished by seaming 10-12 stitches. So there is very little “off the needle” work. . The last picture of brown mitts was knit before I decided to lengthen the finger section, but I show the picture because the stitch is a good one. It is called “little tents” by Barbara Walker. Pattern is written for garter stitch. Pattern stitches are your choice. I have found investing in a pattern stitch book to be a wonderful adventure. The internet is also a source for pattern work stitches.
