A simple and modern poncho, with beautiful drape, featuring a v-neckline, patch pockets and an optional decorative tie-cord. Worked in Tunisian Crochet, this poncho is made sideways, features and giant buttonhole for the neck opening, and works up quickly in the Extended Tunisian Simple Stitch.

MATERIALS

  • DK yarn (see below for Yardage)
  • 5.5mm Tunisian Crochet Hook with a long cable (to make the Poncho, it will need to fit between 210 - 270 stitches on, depending on the size that you are making)
  • 4.5mm Crochet Hook (to make the optional tie-cord)
  • Yarn Needle (for sewing the pockets onto the Poncho and weaving in ends)

YARDAGE
Approximate amount of DK Yarn Required: 1340/1650/1980/2330/2700/3090/3500 yards

YARN SUGGESTION
For the example shown in this pattern, I used King Cole Cotton Top DK (78% Premium Acrylic, 22% Cotton), 100g/260m/284yd, shade 4221 Stone.

You can use any Acrylic, Cotton or Woollen DK yarn for this pattern, depending on what warmth, structure or drape you desire from the finished product. Bear in mind that some yarns will use less/more yardage than the yarn that I have used.
