This large, decorative Christmas sock is the perfect combination of my love for Christmas and my love for socks! I’m hoping to make a whole fireplace worth and some to send home to Ireland in case I can’t make it this year!

Finished Measurements
Circumference of leg: 35.5cm / 14 inches.
Top of cuff (unfolded) to bottom of the heel: 39.5cm / 15ó inches.
Back of heel to tip of toe: 40.5cm / 16 inches.

Yarn
Shown in West Yorkshire Spinners Re:treat Chunky. (140 metres / 153 yards per 100g).
Main colour, Adore: 2 x 100g balls. Contrast colour, Pure: 1 x 100g ball.

Gauge
17 stitches and 22 rows to 10cm / 4 inches over stocking stitch worked in the round on 5.5m needles. As this is not designed to be a fitted item, gauge is not key. However, if your gauge is different the sock may be larger (or smaller) and you may run out of the main colour.

Construction Notes

The sock is worked in the round on a circular needle. The heel is worked on double-pointed needles using wrap and turn short rows. The toe is grafted using Kitchener stitch.
