Sometimes a stitch pattern will just tell you what it wants to be. This one, with alternating columns of leaves and garter stitch, really wanted to be a slouchy hat! I love the way the decreases for the crown fit neatly into the established stitch pattern.

This hat is knit in the round, and offered in two sizes - the small will fit older children and young teens, the large, shown in the photos, will fit most adult women. There is plenty of room in the body of the hat; if you need to size up or down for a more customized fit, adjust the ribbing accordingly and just make sure you have a multiple of 14 stitches when you begin the leaf pattern.
