From Folk Bags:
“Origami is so distinctly Japanese that it seemed the perfect vehicle for creating a Japanese-style design, moving from folding paper to folding a knitted fabric. My bag does not specifically emulate a Japanese bag….So I let origami inspire me to design to bags with a combination of elements derived from young girls’ paper purses, wallets, and party containers. I defined the texture and color of the bags to be reminiscent of Japanese tastes.”
