The Snowy Owl Pillow is crocheted using a stitch called the crocodile stitch, which creates the look of FEATHERS!

Holding two strands of yarn together as you crochet the feathers creates the two-toned look of a snowy owl, while giving a bulky fluffiness to the overall design. A fun, soft pillow to add to your winter decor.

Yardage:- Approx 700 yards Super Fine Weight and approx 800 yards Worsted weight. These are held together for the feathers, and the worsted weight alone for the top half of the front. Small amounts of bulky weight for the owl’s eyes.

Gauge is somewhat hard to measure on this stitch. Each “feather” on the pattern measures about 1.5” wide, and the overall finished pillow case is approximately 20” x 20” square. My suggestion is to complete the piece before purchasing your pillow form - that way you can size up or down to get a perfect fit.
