This cowl, companion piece to Soft Honeycomb hat, is a quick knit in bulky/chunky yarn ideal for a last-minute gift or a treat for yourself.
The cowl is worked flat and two options are given. Less experienced knitters can cast on and cast off in the usual way and seam the ends together. More adventurous knitters can work a provisional cast-on and then graft the ends together for a seamless finish.

The finished cowl measures 6”/15cm high and 23”/58cm long, although it is easy to add extra length if you have more yarn available. Pattern tension is 21 sts and 20 rows to 4”/10cm.The pattern is well suited to handspun yarn.

You will need:
120 yards/107m bulky/chunky weight yarn
6mm (US10) knitting needles
Cable needle
Darning needle

You need to be able to: work either a provisional cast-on and graft using Kitchener stitch, or sew a seam, work simple cables from either charted or written instructions.
