Explore the rich histories of hand spinning, weaving, and knitting from Mesoamerica. The center medallion of the Soleado bag is a design from a spindle whorl used for spinning cotton in pre-Columbian Mexico. The bicolor linen stitch pattern references colorful woven cloth produced with back strap looms. Geometric stranded knitting designs were inspired by knitwear from the Andes Mountains.
