This scarf/shawl uses traditional and nontraditional Estonian lace patterns and techniques. Two books are used as resources and highly recommended by the designer,
Knitted Lace of Estonia by Nancy Bush and The Haapsalu Shawl by Siiri Reimann and Aime Edasi. Without Nancy Bush’s research, knitting knowledge and modern approach to this old tradition of Estonian lace knitting, I could not have put this simple pattern together. I credit her and put this pattern up for free in hopes that you will save your money and purchase her book!

This pattern includes charts. I want to thank all of the test knitters who helped me correct the charts and revise the pattern, especially littlelena, kudepihha and Nanadearest.

I hope you enjoy it!
