A flirty, half-hexagon shawl in two sizes (petite/tall), worked from hem to neck, featuring openwork motifs that mimic the textured patterns in ice crystals and snowflakes. While the stitchwork and construction appear intricate, the motifs are actually worked entirely with simple maneuvers; the challenge with this piece is that for some, it may require extra focus and attention. The result is well-worth the investment however, and wrong-side rest rows provide the opportunity to catch up, so that it knits up quickly in a heavier laceweight yarn. All in all, a delightful project in which to immerse oneself for a post-holiday knitter’s treat.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and drape.
