Keep little heads cozy with this cute hat design in chunky weight yarn.
This pattern gives you two sizes: A(11”) = newborn to 3 months, B(14”) = 6 to 12 months.
Squirt is knit seamlessly from the bottom of the cords to the top of the hat! Cords and earflaps are made using double point needles, with increases at the top of the cords forming the earflaps. Then earflaps are joined along with cast on stitches to get the entire hat going on circular needles. Knit the ribbing edge, stockinette body, use decreases to shape the top, and then make a little more cord to form a cute loop to finish.
Use Squirt to make multiples! With this pair of sizes you can knit lots of quick gifts and keep little friends and family stylish and warm.

Needles needed: 16” circulars sizes 9 & 10.5; and double points in same sizes (14 stitches gauge is for stockinette fabric on 10.5 needle, but always use needles necessary to get gauge). Smaller size circular is for ribbing. Smaller double points are for making cords & earflaps, and larger double points are for closing top of hat.

Size A shown in Neighborhood Fiber Company color Charles Center (grey) and B in color Canton (green)
