BREAKING NEWS-THIS PATTERN NOW COMES IN NEWBORN TO 1 YEAR AND INCLUDES MITTENS TOO!

This pattern is really cute. When finished the borders look like little stars. Its quite easy. All 4 rows of the pattern are knitted. If your gauge is off by a stitch or two it doesn’t really matter. Babies come in all sizes and a little big could be a little better. They grow up so fast. If you want it a little bigger, use a yarn that is a little thicker or go up one size in needles and the total overall size of the jacket will be bigger.

I like to use Dreambaby by Plymouth but Red Heart, Bernat, Berroco or any other DK or sport weight yarn will work. Depending on the yarn purchased it takes 3 balls of Dreambaby, but only 1 or 2 of Red Heart or Bernat depending on which put up you choose. Just keep in mind each yarn can knit up in different sizes. I used Cozy Soft from Knitting Fever, using same needles and stitch count and the jacket came out twice the size it was suppose to. So really watch your gauge.
The pattern is not only a Jacket, I included a cap mittens and booties pattern. There is a video of how to make the jacket on my website, StitchNiche.com.
Also the video can be viewed on YouTube. It should be viewed as a reference guide in making the Jacket, starting with the top band all the way through to the Stars on the bottom edge. The total stitches on the video is not the same as the actual jacket. Click here to see it https://youtu.be/a2JWzutnm4E
If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and say Hi. I would love to see your finished piece.
