For December I designed a scarf using a 4 petal flower motif – I call it a starflower. It can be made in double knit or worsted weight yarn

You will find this is an excellent stash buster for using up all your old scraps. I recommend you use a lot of colours, at least 12 and preferably 20.
I searched my stash and found I had a lot of small quantities of silk yarn, from 5g to 20g in 20 different colours. Some were labelled others were scraps where I hadn’t kept the label. Here is a list of the colours I had labels for: Lilac Blossom, Bramble Pink, Moss, Golden Caramel, Foliage, Berries, Spring Woodland, Russett, Plum, Emerald, Sapphire, Cobalt, Cranberry, Nectarine, Ripening Tomatoes, Beetroot.

When choosing colours it is best to be completely random. Put all your yarns in a bag and just choose a new one without looking.

The motif is fairly quick to make and uses only the basic crochet stitches. Provided you can work in the round, you will find this a straightforward project.

This is written in English and US crochet terms, and is charted.
