Kiyomi Burgin has designed a cardigan that is both practical, whimsical and stylish in Stone Cove, a cardigan to carry you through the most exhausting of adventures. Inspired by Wes Anderson’s movie Moonrise Kingdom, there is more than a little scouting inspiration in this fabulous jacket, and the collar, pocket tops and cuffs are delightfully striped using a corrugated rib. Kiyomi’s love of stripes comes from Canada’s tradition of making woollen blankets with woven stripe detail - they are iconic heirlooms, reminiscent of camping - and they’ll keep you super warm, just like this fabulous cardigan.

The Stone Cove cardigan is worked from the top down back and forth in rows with raglan shaping. A long circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Sleeves are worked in the
round on double pointed needles, or using your preferred style for working small circumferences in the round, ie. magic loop. When working in corrugated rib, keep floats in back slightly loose so that ribbing maintains some stretch. Always twist yarns together at the first colour change in each row when working corrugated rib flat to avoid holes.
