This cowl was designed to compliment the Straight as an Arrow hat. The pattern can easily be customized in both length and width. Worked in the sample size will leave enough yarn in 1 hank to knit the matching hat.

Details: Straight as an Arrow uses a cable pattern (both charted and written) that is simple but interesting enough to keep you going for ‘one more row’. The simplicity of the cable and the clean stockinette stitch section work well for showing off variegated yarns. I designed it to be knit without a cable needle and provide instructions on how to do that. More on that technique can be found on Knitty scroll down to the ‘Cabling without a cable needle’ section. Instructions are given on how to modify this pattern to make it longer or bulkier. It is easily modified.
