Slouchy braided cable beret knit from the bottom up. Originally intended as a woman’s hat but my kids’ friend Holden ran off with the prototype. Non-slouchy beanie version available here.

I used less than one ball Vanna’s Choice yarn. Not sure on exact yardage but 150 or thereabouts seems to be average for a slouchy beret. Any worsted weight yarn should work. I prefer wool but $2 yarn is sometimes hard to resist!

No gauge as of yet. I’ll update with that info after I knit a second one. Holden!! I am happy to say it has been test knit and no problems were reported.
