This scarflette is very easy and fun to knit, and quite quick. Though originally knit in a lace weight yarn, it can also be knit to a somewhat larger size with a fingering weight yarn, and changing needle size. The “Betty” yarn base by Lucky Violet Color Co (a wonderfully soft blend of 60% fine Merino, 30% Cashmere, and 10% Nylon) would make a divinely soft treasure.

Or with Glinda or Lily yarn bases you would have enough yardage to make a comfy wrap by knitting beyond the dimensions called for in the pattern. This would produce a lovely, asymmetrical triangle shawl.

Play around with it, do some swatching and see what will work for you … or for your mother.

The scarflette is worked on a diagonal, and may be ended at any point when it is as large as you wish it to be.
