Karen Whooley’s sweet little cardigan is made with Lion Brand’s Sock-Ease yarn, giving it comfort and wearability that is sure to appeal to your favorite little person.

Why this Yarn?
One thing that really bothers me about children’s patterns is that many of them are made with worsted weight yarn. While I understand the need to uses a less expensive acrylic yarn for children (I have 2) you don’t have to stick with worsted weight. Although Sock-Ease is mostly wool there is enough nylon in it to keep it from shrinking in the wash. It is also priced at a reasonable price point so that your sweater that the child will outgrow won’t make you wince either! And being that it is a fingering weight, the fabric has drape and doesn’t make the child look like the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.
