This handsome cowl in three sizes (S/M/L) is composed with a dead-simple stitch pattern that works up into a sophisticated, reversible fabric. Bright pops of color against a rich, earthy background in the sample version result from mixing a highly variegated hand-dyed yarn with a dark, contrasting solid; a more subtle fabric can be achieved with two solids that are closer in tone. This project is a great way to use yarns of differing characteristics as well; try pairing a springy, wooly type with a slippery, shiny type to create a glimmering fabric with a bit more drape. Whatever the yarn choices, this cowl makes for wonderfully effortless summer travel knitting with wearable, giftable potential.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.

Cowl is shown in size M, knit in Bare Naked Wools Stone Soup Fingering yarn, color River Rock and Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock, color Sweet Potato Pone (hand-dyed exclusively for the 2018 Pairings Club)
