This shawl was inspired by the old fashioned candy from my local market, Reading Terminal Market, in Philadelphia. The licorice twists, taffy, and nonpareils remind me of how excited I get to buy these old fashioned candies that my grandparents loved. Eating a B-B-bat or Necco Wafer reminds me of when life seemed simpler, and this comforting stole was inspired by that feeling of warmth and safety. The delicate fishnet is accented with the smallest, elongated ribbed cable twists, providing just enough interest, while the strong lines create a moiré effect when the piece is worn. When we were photographing the sample, no one could stop snuggling it—a sure sign that it will be a piece you will love and enjoy wearing!
