Take flight, floating in the wind.

A semicircular shawl that can be made with a single 800m skein of yarn.
Can be knitted in two or more colours to stash-bust your left over lace skeins, check out some of the beautiful creations made by my amazing test knitters.
Yarn required: minimum 800 m (874 yds) lace weight yarn, and more if you want to size up your needles.
Knitting needles: One circular needle at least 80 cm (32”) long, 3.5 mm (US 4), or 3.75 mm (US 5) if you knit tightly.
Experience: Some experience desirable although it is only very simple lace stitches on the right side only, all wrong side rows are purled.
The pattern is quite memorable.
Stitches: Knit, Purl, Knit 2 tog, Knit 2 tog through the back loops, Yarn over, sl-1-K2tog-psso, Knit in front and back of stitch.
Beading: Optional. There are photo instructions for how to bead the pattern if you wish to do so.
Instructions: The pattern has both charts for the lace sections and line by line instructions so you can choose whichever method suits your knitting style.
There are two options for the very edge section, both shawls are knitted the same until the very last few rows so you can choose which ending you want as you go. One version ends where knitting continues in complete rows, the other points version requires knitting each point individually, but it’s much simpler than you might think!
