The Telemark Rose Gloves were inspired by the embroidered handcoverings of Telemark, a county in southeastern Norway. Learn more about Norway in the nineteenth century through mittens and gloves from that important time period. Looking carefully at extant handcoverings in museum collections, we can see the changing cultural identities and emerging technologies that would leave their mark on traditional textiles. Article and pattern included in Summer 2014 Spin-Off. Visit Kate’s website for additional information.
