The Long, Long Winter Night is a wide scarf with Estonian patterns. The first border is worked and then put aside, then the second border and the length of the scarf are worked. The live stitches of the first border are then grafted to the live stitches of the rest of the scarf.

There is a photo tutorial for the crochet chain edging as well as the gathered stitches used in the border. Links are provided to 2 techniques to work nupps as well as the provisional cast-on (crochet chain method).

Thanks to my great test knitters dashuta and puffycats!
