“We’re so wonderfully wonderfully wonderfully
Wonderfully pretty
Oh you know that I’d do anything for you”
- Robert Smith

If you know the song, I know you are humming in your head, right now…this is a sweet cat hat for the cold days of Winter. Perfect for slipping through the streets (whilst everyone sleeps), curled up by the fire, or landing hand in hand…it is the grooviest thing, one might say, “a perfect dream”.

This is a pattern for a stranded knit hat. The hat is knit from the bottom up and in the round. There are 2 height options for this hat, a shorter more fitted hat and a slouchy hat. You may also change needle size or work in DK weight yarn, for a more fitted hat.
Depending on your knitting style and/or yarn, you may need to go up or down needle size. We all knit differently, you know your style best.
Im addition, I have added a tutorial page on the Ladderback or Invisible Jacquard technique. This is a great way to keep your fabric even over regions with long floats!

Measurements for Worsted Weight Hat:
Laying flat, including ribbed edge of approx. 2.25 inches/6 cm (h) x 9.75 inches/25 cm (w)
Shorter Lovecats: 9.5 inches/24 cm (h) x 10.75 inches/27 cm (w)
Slouchy Lovecats: 11 inches/28 cm (h) x 10.75 inches/27 cm (w)
Approx. yarn amount:
MC - 110 yrds/100m
CC1 - 80 yrds/73m

My sample knit (green and charcoal) shows the slouchy hat, worked in For Better Or Worsted. Sample knit was worked with an additional colour for stripes (approx. 15 yrds/14m of Au Natural). This is a great hat to mix and match, check out some of the project pages and other sample knits to the left!
