The pattern is still in MKAL format, for those who are interested in knitting a mystery mitten.

It was requested that I enable lys sales for this pattern. Please note that each clue is a separate file and so it will take significantly more paper to print than my other patterns.

Yarn: You will need 2 contrasting colors of fingering weight.
The small size will take 140-160 yards of MC and 105 -120 yds of CC.
The large size will take approximately 170-180 yards of MC and 140-170 yards of CC for the large size with long length.

Size & Notes:
There are two width sizes, S/M is 64 sts wide and M/L is 72 sts wide.

The cuff is fairly long at 3 ½ “. For people who don’t like a long cuff, there will be an option in clue 1 to shorten it to 1 ½ “.

In clue 2 there is an option of either an afterthought thumb or side gusset thumb. The thumb you choose will affect the fit of the mitten. An afterthought thumb needs more mitten width to fit comfortably than a side gusset does, so keep this in mind.

In clues 3 & 4, there are 3 tip length options. Regular, which is 5” from thumb opening to tip, Short, which is 5 rows shorter, and Long, which is 5 rows longer than Regular.

For those who don’t want to do Latvian braid, you can just knit the colorwork chart as shown and ignore the instructions for the braid.
