This is a knit wrap (shawl) pattern that features two stitches that come to us from Japan, as well as one Shetland border stitch. The focal stitch is an intricate cable lace stitch that makes quite a statement. The side cable is a small one that is more common in Japanese style knitting. The border stitch is also unique and is a “true” lace. Combined, they make a one of a kind shawl, quickly becoming an heirloom.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).

The three stitches are both charted and written out line by line, but it’s always wise to be able to refer to the chart.

The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Marie Franzosa, who is known on Ravelry as Rezo. She can be reached at: franzosm@math.oregonstate.edu.

The yarn used in the sample is Fleece Artist’s Lofty 2 -3 (which is very similar to their Merino 2- 3, in colorway, Rose.)
