Torrential is a fun, QUICK one skein project to use that one skein of self-striping you can’t wait to show off or even that gradient or tricky variegated skein that you’ve had lying around forever!

This shawl/scarf uses simple short rows, eyelets, and garter stitch to really make that yarn SHINE!

Size: 85 inches / 215 cm along the top edge; 8 inches / 20 cm along the widest point of the shawl. Shawl size may vary, depending on individual knitter’s gauge, yarns used, and blocking preferences.

Recommended yarn: One skein of fingering weight self-striping sock yarn. You may also use a gradient or even a highly variegated for the shawl!

Sample Used: 716knit 716ghee (90% Targhee/10% Nylon; 400 yd/ 366m) in the color way: “I Work Hard at Being Humble” This color is a two-color speckled stripe.

Yardage: 400 yd / 366 m

Needles: One set of US size 5/3.75 mm circular needles in a 32-40 in / 80-100 cm length.

Gauge: 6 sts to the inch in garter stitch on a US size 5/3.75 mm needle

Notions: Scissors and a tapestry needle.
