The torus form at the beginning of the scarf structure produces six layers of knitting at the throat, the most unprotected part of the neck. The construction of this piece also satisfied my love for seamless knitting!
DETAILS
Skill Level: Intermediate
Finished Measurements:
Plain version: 34 ½” long, 5” wide.
Fancy version: 29 ½” 4 ½” wide, excluding the lace.
Fancy version pictured.
Techniques used include: provisional cast on, knitting in the round, short rows, lace, Kitchener stitch
Pattern assumes knowledge of w&t and Kitchener stitch, or see References at end of pattern.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Windy Valley Muskox, 100% Qiviut, 218 yds, 1 oz (28.5 gm) per skein: 2 skeins
Needles: US 2/2.75mm, and US 3/3.25mm double point needles; US 3/3.25mm circular needle for Fancy Version
