Tomte (homestead man) is a solitary, mischievous domestic sprite sharing your happy home and keeping it safe and prosperous! May you always have a Tomte looking out for you!

This is a pattern for a Tomte and may be worked with any weight of yarn; the instructions are for any weight, plus there is a note to adjust size to your preference.
The base of the Tomte is crocheted and the rest knitted with mittens, nose, and shoes cut from felt (templates included) and beard made from waste yarn. A familiarity (or curiosity) with basic crochet technique is helpful. This pattern includes photos to help you along your Tomte journey.
