At first glance this looks like a simple garter stitch scarf—it’s not! The stitch pattern is from Barbara Walker’s Charted Knitting Designs and features some sleight-of-hand in a stitch that’s fun to knit. The glamorous yarn makes it all the more special!

4” wide x 60” long

Materials:
230 yds any yarn that knits to the specified gauge. Sample done in Katia Gatsby (77% viscose, 15% nylon, 8% metallic polyester) 115 yds/50g skein)
US size #5 (3¾ mm) ndls or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 22 sts and 24 rows = 4” (10 cm) over Stockinette st on US size #5 (3¾ mm) ndls

Note: The directions seem rather convoluted, but they are easy to understand if you work slowly and examine the knitting carefully.
