This sock pattern uses a simple colour work chart to create an appealing heart pattern, to create socks inspired by an illustration in a children’s book about a Norwegian girl named Treva, written by Jan Brett. A perfect knit for a loved one, or for yourself so you can imagine you too are wandering happily through the snowy mountains of Norway!

The pattern is written using the magic loop method (but can be knit with DPNs). The socks are worked from the cuff down, with a classic slipped-stitch heel with an easy to knit short colour work chart which is repeated throughout the leg and the foot of the sock. The detailed instructions are suitable for anyone new (or experienced!) in knitting colour-work socks .

Three different coloured fingering weight sock yarns are used for this pattern.

Needle size is chosen according to the size required and gauge.
