Have you ever considered felting a shawl? Probably not if you think of sturdy bags and stiff slippers when you think felting. Instead, imagine a gently flowing fabric that is light and soft, one that blends the touch of a silk yarn with the warmth and vibrancy of a Malabrigo merino. In Trinka, these two yarns are held together to create lightly felted fabric that is soft, complex, and lustrous. The shawl is the juxtaposition of this soft felted fabric with runs of crisp unfelted silk lace. A color gradient completes the look as one Malabrigo yarn gradually transitions to another.

Construction is an asymmetrical triangle, knit primarily in garter from point to edge. Finished size is approximately 98 inches long by 17 inches deep.

Comprehensive instructions are provided for felting the shawl in a top loading washer, and for blocking afterward.
