Trouvaille: Something lovely found by chance.

The Trouvaille Blanket features a filet diamond pattern and rounds of special cluster stitches to create a unique design. The blanket is finished with special cluster shells. The pattern is easily adjustable to different yarn weights.

Level: Intermediate
There is one special stitch.

Size: Adjustable. The pictured blanket is approximately 30.5” square before blocking and 32.5” square after blocking.
The two pattern sections can be repeated until the blanket reaches your desired size.

The pattern is written in English using US crochet terms. The PDF download includes:

  • The complete pattern for the blanket and border
  • A picture tutorial with 50 pictures detailing each section with step by step pictures of all special stitches
  • A list of materials
  • A list of abbreviations
  • Color suggestions
  • Descriptions of all special stitches
  • Information to change the size of the blanket, or to modify the number of diamond rows within each section.

Two pdfs are included: a printer friendly pattern and a longer tutorial.

I made the blanket with Scheepjes Whirl yarn (1094 yards) and an E (3.5 mm) hook. However, the pattern can be worked with any yarn. It has been tested in fingering, sport, and DK weight yarn.
