Tubby Pug is a quick fun amigurumi project that’s sure to melt your heart! He’s easy to make and the pattern is a dream to work from: lots of tips and photos.

Level of difficulty
Easy (assumes a basic knowledge of crochet).

Stuff you’ll need

  • 3mm crochet hook
  • DK/8ply cotton yarn (I use Patons Australia Cotton Blend 8 ply but you can substitute)
  • Stitch marker
  • 6mm safety eyes
  • Tapestry needle and pins
  • Scissors
  • Polyester stuffing
  • Sheet of thin plastic i.e. a cut-down takeaway container or ice cream tub

Abbreviations (UK Terms)
BLO - back loops only
ch - chain
dc - double crochet
dec - decrease (dc two stitches together)
inc - increase (two dc in the same stitch)
rnd - round
sl st - slip stitch
st - stitch

Finished size
Approximately 12cm high and pleasantly plump.
