You’ll need white, and 11 additional colors of yarn. I used full skeins (even multiple skeins) of some colors, but only a small amount from the green and light pink balls. Yardage is difficult to calculate and will depend on the temperatures in your area. I used approximately 20 skeins of yarn for this project.

You can use stash yarn, and any colors you like, but it’s best if you select all in the same weight.

If you use more or less than 11 colors, or you live in a region that has different weather patterns than the Pacific Northwest, you will need to adjust your temperature ranges.

Notes: I held the yarn double. One strand for the day’s low temp, and one strand for the day’s high temp.

For the border and white rows between blocks, I used chunky weight weight yarn (Cascade 128) so that I wouldn’t have to hold that double.
