The columns of ribbing that separate the individual motifs on this tam remind me of the legs of a starfish. They are made out of twisted knit stitches that are worked straight up from the brim of the hat to the last few rounds of the crown shaping. Between these columns are charted patterns of Bavarian Twisted Traveling Stitch patterns that were originally designed to form the shaping for a knee sock. I decided these beautiful stitches and shaping would be just perfect for an stunning hat. I hope you agree!
