Útivist (meaning outdoors in Icelandic; pronounced ootivist) is a highly technical outdoor clothing. Integrated mountain hood for additional weather protection, zipped chest pockets, longer back hem for additional comfort and warmth, 2 ways center front zip, adjustable cuffs and Women’s Active fit with articulated and pre-shaped sleeves.

Available in 10 sizes, unlimited color choices. Option vest with no sleeves, with or without hood.

It is made of an extremely lightweight and exceptionally breathable, weather resistant, water-repellant, odor-repellant, environmentally friendly eco fabric with remarkable insulation qualities that affords total mobility and unhindered breathability whilst repelling moisture and protecting you against the elements: Icelandic lopi wool.*

I had a lot of fun writing this description: in short, Útivist is a great lopi sweater with a zipper, hood and chest pockets, and quite a good fit! Wool is best!

The construction is a bit unusual for a lopi sweater: body and yoke are knitted bottom up but the sleeves from the top down.

It’s fun to knit with a lot of techniques involved, illustrated in online tutorials: short rows, sewn steek, crochet steek, provisional cast on, stranded knitting, intarsia knitting, you won’t be bored!


The colors used in the model shown are Einrúm L 2006 and Léttlopi 9427 and 0051

You can replace Einrúm L, by 2 strands of Plötulopi from Ístex held together and will get the same gauge: you will need 4(4,4,5)5,5,5(5,5,6) plates
For the CC in Léttlopi you can use both Léttlopi or 2 strands of Plötulopi together.
